Anna Wolff | German Diction Coaching for Classical Singers

My name is Anna Wolff (née Franken). I am a German native, trained classical singer, performer and voice teacher.

I grew up in the western part of Germany (NRW) and moved to Rotterdam, The Netherlands, to study classical singing (Bachelor of Music - Soprano).

However, I found my true home in Tango music and continued my studies in Rotterdam as a Tango vocalist (Master of Music) - and then in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2017 I moved back to Germany and now live, teach and sing in the vibrant, creative and crazy city of Berlin.

During my singing studies I started working with fellow singers and conductors and helped them polish their German diction. What started as 5 minute meet ups in the conservatory canteen (“Anna, how do you pronounce “Schätzchen”?) has grown into a full time job that puts me in contact with singers and choirs from all over the world.

Being a singer myself helps me understand the challenges of speaking vs. singing a language. Singing a language might be easier than speaking it but only if you can speak it - and really taste it - your singing sounds credible and your performance will touch your audience (and yourself) in ways you did not think were possible.

I speak German, English, Dutch and Spanish.
